Heard of internet telephony (VoIP) and the incredible savings you can make on phone calls? We can get you going using the best suppliers on the market to realise real savings on phone calls. All you need is a broadband connection. You don't even need a computer and you can keep your existing phones and BT numbers. Example call costs: UK landlines (starting 01, 02 or 03) - free 24/7 UK mobiles - 9.8p/min 24/7 UK 0870 - 7.5p/min 24/7 USA landlines and mobile - free 24/7 Spain landlines - free 24/7 France landline - 1p/min and many more... What's more, you can make multiple calls on one BT line at no extra cost, so ditch those extra BT lines that you are paying rental on. A normal fast broadband connection will allow several simultaneous incoming and outgoing calls and an Asterisk PBX can handle 1000's of extensions. VoIP isn't very new, but it was only big companies with big, fat internet connections that used to be able to reap the benefits. The advent of widely available broadband means that VoIP is a must for anyone that makes phone calls.
To make and receive VoIP calls, you need to sign up with a VoIP Provider (called an ITSP or VSP). Like standard phone companies, there are many call packages to chose from. Many offer free calls to all 01/02/03 UK numbers and to landlines throughout the World. You also need something to talk into. There are 4 basic ways of making internet telephone calls: - Install a 'softphone' on your PC or Mac.
- Buy a special router that has connections for your existing telephone handsets.
- Buy special telephones that connect to your network
- Install a full PBX such as Asterisk.
Whichever route is best for you, you can also have extra functions included at no cost, such as voicemail, caller id, call waiting, conference calling and *21 call forwarding. A full VoIP PBX works out at a fraction of the cost of a traditional analogue telephone system and will route calls over your BT line if the internet fails. Asterisk can handle normal PBX functions, receive voicemails and email them to you, has the ability to queue your callers and can be configured to provide a full distributed call centre. Any employee on the internet can be a call centre operator from home or even on the other side of the World. On a single BT line, home workers can have a separate number for business calls that can automatically route to voicemail out of business hours. Most systems will also allow you to automatically route incoming calls to your mobile without you having to give your mobile number out. Allow us to put together the telephone system you need. Whether you would like to be able to talk on 2 phones at the same time or whether you want a full PBX system connected to multiple lines, give us a call and see what we can do. |
